Seven-and-a-half ~
Yes, we all have our job. Yours is to study, mine is to cook and teach you, Daddy’s is to make money.
Huh. I have the hardest job of all.
—————
Umma, what is the bottom number? The lowest number….the floor?
*Smile* It’ll be a negative number, right? Way below zero. Only God can reach it because He is infinite.
When I get to heaven, I’m going to ask Him to show me how He stretches from the lowest to the highest number.
—————–
*Watching him eat, in amazement*
Where does it all go? It’s a three-mile tunnel in there.
I’m mileless.
—————–
Mom, what is M x X?
—————–
Mom, you know what the bottommost lowest number is?
What?
Negative infinity.
—————-
His prayer in Sunday School
Lord, give us joy as we fall at your feet.
*Mom stunned*

Love the mom and son image. What a Hallmark moment.
Very sweet. Thank you. =)
Diana

Happy Mother’s Day, Diana! A cutie indeed….with the hardest job. Love it.
LOL. Right? Poor thing…(made him dust this morning. For good measure.) Thanks, L.
If there’s math involved, he’s right. The hardest job! Sweet post. Happy Mom’s day.
Ha ha ha. He’s pretty good in math. But he’s dragged his feet in the reading and writing. He must be adopted! (Been thinking of you.)
Great shots!
Glad you liked. Thanks. =)
Diana
Happy Mother’s Day Diana, the precious moments you have with your boy 🙂
Thank you so much for walking alongside, my friend. =) He’s a lot of fun.

Too fast. Thank you for being here.
You’re welcome 🙂

I should be more modest but yes, I actually am proud of him. =) Thank you for being here.
Diana

Diana,
Wonderful pics of you and your son. No greater inseparable bond is there than between mom and son.
It is the gift that God has given us to weather all the storms in life. So it is with my mom and me. Even my mom’s passing some years ago has put no distance between us.
Happy Mother’s Day, Diana.
-Alan
“Even my mom’s passing some years ago has put no distance between us.” Aw…precious, Alan. Glad you shared this and thank you for the blessing, as always. =)
Diana
Happy Mother’s Day, God bless.
Thank you. You’ve hovered here like an angel. =)
Diana
😉
Being a mother still leaves me breathless – seven and a half, seventeen and a half, twenty seven and a half, it never grows old.
*Big smile* Hear, hear.
Beautiful! Beautiful post and beautiful baby!
He will always be your baby, even when he eventually towers over you and have to look up to that beautiful smile. 🙂 Trust me on this 😉
Ha ha ha. I trust ya, LR. Thanks. (He looks older this wk. Wahhh!!)
Happy Mother’s Day. Love seeing this photo of you and your son. I love reading about the ways in which you revel in your mommy moments.
Seriously, I think that’s generous of you, Diahann. But yes, I know it’s real on your part. Thanks so much.
Luv,
D.
happy mothers days mama….
Thanks. =)
the pleasure is mine….?
love this and HMD! 😀
Thanks. =)
Beautiful! Both you, and your precious son. The last part brought me to reverence. Thank you.
“The last part brought me to reverence.” Me too! Thank you for the lovely comment. I can feel your heart. =)
Xx

How I wish I would have saved my children’s words like you just did. I can’t even pick my favorite…they are all precious.
You (and T) make me smile from ear to ear! Thank you! xoxoxo
Ah — but I don’t have your magic eye and finger (even one of these would be great, let alone both working in tandem) to snap and preserve all those moments in a living album. Thanks, Mickey. Hope you got to breathe today. 😉
“Negative infinity”. That makes sense to me, but then I was never great at math. Happy Mother’s Day HW.
Ha ha ha ha. You were never great at math. Riiight. You are not very convincing in your modesty. And thank you for the M Day’s greetings.
Just look at your boy! What a gorgeous child 😍
Now who doEsn’t want to hear this? =) Thx, you.
Beautiful post and picture Diana. I love your answer for the bottom number. I love their question and I enjoy them now because who knows how long they will keep asking. Happy Mother day Diana.
Right. “who knows how long they will keep asking.” By 13 I thought I had all the answers. =) Thank you, AB.
“Negative Infinity”…LOL!!! Love that best!!!
The stuff they come up with… =)
HAPPY MOTHER’S (EVERY)DAY!!!!
Seriously! =) Thank you. Ha ha ha.
He’s a smart boy, I can only imagine how proud you are! 🙂
=) Eh, he has areas that need work.
Reblogged this on xaivierop and commented:
Beautiful words for mother’s day! Happy today.
Thank you for the good word and the reblog. =)
Wonderful quotes ~ and extraordinary photos of the love of mother and son. Brilliant Diana, be proud 🙂
Oh Randall, you’re too generous. Thanks. And yes, I’ll be proud. =) Appreciate your keeping up.
D.
Happy family. Such a happy shot of the two of you. He’s so happy…you’ve certainly taught him what happiness means 🙂
Funny you point that out, M – bc he’s the happiest thing on the planet. I’ve looked at him in wonder, very thankful he’s like that. Some of it must be his disposition. Thanks for tapping in.
D.
What a powerful prayer! And I can’t stop smiling at ‘negative infinity’…lol
Seriously…I’ve been so humbled by his simple, unabashed joy and reverence for the Lord. We don’t even nurture his spirit as we should. As for the rest, yes…it’s so much fun, the stuff that comes out of their mouth. =) Thanks, V.
Diana
So much insight for a 7 year old. You will enjoy the journey as he grows up under your tutelage. The homeschooling seems to be working !! Lovely picture. Hope you had a great Mother’s Day ! ☺Van
Thank you, my friend. He wakes every few days looking taller and older. Too fast. =(
The wisdom and fun children bring! Happy Mother’s day. 🙂
Yes. Never a dull day. =) Thanks for swinging by in your busyness, Cindy. Hope the rewrite’s going well. =)
It is. I needed a break from the break 😉
Photo posts are fast and easy to share and keep me “alive” in the blogosphere. Cheers!
Diana, In the first picture, I saw a mother’s love and protection of what is so dear to her heart! (Love the pictures!) I remember the hardest question my son asked (when he was about your son’s age), “How will we not cry when we get to heaven and not see people we loved here on earth?” (He knew that according to the Bible, there were no tears in heaven.) That was my stunned moment. I love how our kid’s questions can reveal their hearts and challenge ours!
I know what you mean, D. He is one zealous missionary, LOL. Boy, do we have stories.
And he also said not long ago: “When I go to heaven, I can’t WAIT to see God! *exuberant, excited* He’s the coolest. He can break mountains.” I was taken aback by the joyful anticipation and light on his face. He really couldn’t wait to meet his God. Deeply humbling. Thanks for sharing in these indescribable moments, my friend.
Diana
Diana, which is why we are to have a child-like faith! Makes sense, doesn’t it?!!!
Wow what a cute little bundle of joy you’ve got there !! He’s a brilliant boy. So much love to you both ! Hope you had a great time, Happy mothers day ! 🙂
Much love to you,
Zee ❤
I really appreciate the sweet word, Zee. Can feel your heart. Thank you. =)

[…] Words Between Mom and Boy, Part 3 […]
Thank you. =)
Happy Mother’s Day. Your little boy is a treasure. I love the pictures.
Thanks, Ina. I appreciate being able to share the journey with you.
Love,
Diana
A belated happy Mother’s Day to you. The top pic is priceless. Beautiful and I assume that your husband took that one. You are a blessed lady.
Mr. Wayfarer was busy unpacking the drums he had just played in worship so I grabbed a Sunday school teacher to snap me and T. I hope you had a great Mother’s Day, Yvonne, and felt the love from your daughter. =)
D.
Beautiful! What a darling boy!
Thanks. =)
That is priceless. It’s a shame they stop being so cute after age 42. I don’t know what happens. They just get too serious, I guess.
And of course you’re 40. =)
Exactly! 40 with 20 years experience. someday, if I keep at it, I’ll get it right. 🙂
Wow! ‘Lord, give us joy as we fall at your feet.” Out of the mouths of babes!
Wonderful photo of you both – but his joyful smile caught in the last photo really touched me. Joie de vivre!
“Joie de vivre!” Yes, I share your sentiments, K. Thanks for sharing in this. =)
My pleasure! ❤
Great photos. Thanks for sharing, and what a great prayer!
=)
Ohho! how sweet…
=) Thx.
Hey, did you take your poem from today down? I couldn’t respond to your comments and when I went to the page it says ‘link not found’??
Having a lot of trouble today. I am confused! You get my posts via email, right?
Yes.
Nice! Love the pics too. Hmmm, what has Griffin said lately…. After telling me about a dream he had, “Can you believe that nightdream came out of this little brain?!?” He must’ve heard someone talking about daydreaming and made the natural conclusion as what the opposite would be.
Later he told me about a bad dream he had, or as he called it, “A nightmirror.”
Ha ha ha. Nightmirror, oh dear. Poor thing. Sounds just like T. He goes on and on to describe his dreams in detail – I think he’s just fabricating at some point. =) Kids are so creative without all those hang-ups and inhibitions we grow into.
Loved this. What a beautiful boy.
What a lovely picture!
Thanks, Ian. =)
that is a lovely pic
Thank you.
i love ur pic they are cute
Lovely, Diana. x
Thanks. =)
