So we just talked about dancing. I waited to celebrate the 100,000 views I broke Valentine’s week with the 10,000 follows that were on their way. It’s not a medal or the Ph.D. from my alternative life but here I am. I’ll take it.
The show is 45 seconds. You know Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive? Mr. Wayfarer played it and I went with it. Here’s what I’m acting out:
Turn around now. You’re not welcome anymore.
You’re the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye.
Do you think I’d crumble, did you think I’d lay down and die?
No, not I, I will survive. Long as I know how to love I know I’ll stay alive.
I’ve got all my life to live and all my love to give. I’ll survive. I, I, I will survive.
It took all my strength not to fall apart, trying without my mind
to mend my broken heart. I spent so many nights feeling sorry for myself,
how I cried. But now I hold my head up high. And you see me, somebody new.
I’m not that lonely little person who’s still in love with you.
Now you come dropping in, expecting me to be free.
Now I’m saving all my lovin’ for someone who’s loving me.
Go on now, walk out the door. Turn around now, you’re not welcome anymore.
You’re the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye.
Think I’d might crumble, did you think I’d lay down and die?
No, not I, I will survive. Long as I know how to love I know I’ll stay alive.
But we hit a wall with the copyright and had to use a different song – not the one our son was drumming to.
Please rsvp and join the party.
Thank you doesn’t quite seem to cut it. But let me try. Deep appreciation to my most loyal likers and commenters and the quiet readers who haven’t missed a post. Thanks to those who’ve been with me from the start as well as those who find themselves coming back. Thank you to my newest readers and lastly, gratitude always to my husband and son who’ve let me be who I more fully am on the holistic journey.
Congrats on 10,000! Let’s dance!
Ha HA!! Thanks. Hey, nice triple step.
Way to go, Diana! Compliments to the drummer, as well.
-Alan
You would make it a point to praise him, too. =) You’ve been wonderful, Alan. Thanks so much.
D.
You’re quite welcome, Diana.
-Alan
Congrats! I never miss a dance party!
Right? Drinks are over to the left.
lol. Bright music, no voice. Sigh… Did put a lot of motion into it, though.
Oh, you’ve NO idea how bummed I was not to be able to use that song. It’s over the top.
Congrats. As someone with fewer than 300 followers I have trouble imagining the abundance if waiting for my next 10,000. 🙂
Would you believe I still don’t know what a trackback is? Ha ha ha. There is hope for all. =) Thx for your time here.
me neither, especially if it isn’t a pingback…still, cingrats on your success. ❤
Ya got rhythm, kid! Congratulations! ❤
Could be worse. *grin* Thanks…but are you shaking it?
😀 😀 Nah… take it from the Graceless Kate: All God’s children ain’t got rhythm!
I actually had meant could be better, busy as a bee helping to get my guys out of the house. Wonder why the subconscious said it the other way. LOL.
I don’t know… but no worries: I knew exactly what you meant. 🙂
HA. Thanks for the benefit of the doubt.
Congradulations.. You serve it!
So appreciate the faithful read. =) Thx.
Lol congrats Diana. Nice beat, couldn’t stop grinning and moving my hips. You’ve got a funny dance though 😀 Kept staring at your legs…
Doesn’t sound like a compliment. HA ha ha ha! It was less dancing as it was lip syncing and acting. =) Just wish I coulda played the original song. Uh…why the legs?
i’m still dancing! 😀
I can see that! Hey, cool turn there.
Congrats!
Thank you, SM. =)
No Problem! Enjoy the dance! 🙂
Very good, and congratulations! You could be on ‘Dancing With The Stars’!
Ha ha. I wish. Thx.
You dance well! Bravo
Could be better. =)
Congratulations! 🙂
Thank you. =)
Sky’s the limit, or maybe not, Diana. Stratospheric next stop. Great dancing and drumming.
Eh…I am tired enough, T. =) The little man got such a kick out of Mom he had trouble playing, ha ha ha. Thank you for keeping up, my friend!!
Xx
Diana
Mama is an agile dancer and the son is an excellent drummer. He is one talented young man. I think this video shines and I enjoyed it immensely. (sp?) I can not get my spell checker to work.
Congratulations on achieving this milestone. I have a mere 20,000 visitors but then I have not aspired to a lofty goal. Keep up the good work, Diana
PS: I think you enjoyed making the video. 🙂
~ yvonne xx
Ha ha ha. Would you drop the spelling thing already? =) 20,000 without thinking about it is very good, my friend. And you have a rich comment board, which says a whole lot. You know, I didn’t have goals for quite a while. I dared not. Remember, I didn’t even know I had to tag!
And I laughed because….YES. It was SO much fun!! (Esp when I was wagging the finger: “Go on now, walk out the door!…You’re not welcome anymore…I will surVIiiive.”)
Many thanks for the faithful, faithful read, Y. Have felt the love.
D.
Thank you and I’m so glad that I found y0ur blog.
Thanks for the invite……I had a great time. Congratulations!
Fabulous. Sorry you’re leaving so soon.
Here, let me show you out to the back. Lovely view, fresh air, lounge.
Congrats, my dear! What an achievement *Cracks open the champagne and hits the dancefloor with some dodgy dancing*
Awesome video, by the way…you put my moves to shame! 😀 x
Heh heh. You wOuld burst the bubbly (thank you) and join me out here. Nice swivel and flip, girl. Hey, thAt was a little too sexy. Now, stop that.
Haha. I’m sorry, I’ll stop the twerking now… I got a bit carried away! (The bubbles must have gone to my head!)
LOL Just try to be less sexy. At least here – G-Rated blog. Well, most of the time.
*Note taken* Sticks with the … ‘BIG BOX, little box, cardboard box’ 🙂
Hey, you are one cool lady! Dance on… 😉
*wiping sweat* Whew! Got my cardio for the day. Thanks so much for staying w/ me, W. And drinks are over to the left.
My oh my… you do have rythym and moves, girl. 🙂 And congratulations. –Curt
Girl. Curt called me girl, street-style. LOL. I did something right. The whole fam had a blast. Thanks for the faithful follow, my friend.
Congratulations. Well deserved.
Thank you, JC. Saved you a spot on the floor. Right there. *grin*
Oh no. No one needs to see that. Children would weep, dogs would howl, plants would die, and you’d lose many followers. Some things must remain unseen.
LOL. I can handle crying kids, blasted…even dogs howling…and with a famous black thumb, planting dying. But….my followers??!
Well, that settles it. Thank you for sparing us.
Hahaha. We have diverted a horror of epic proportions.
Not to mention the wrath of the Godmother. 😉
Broken legs would put an end to my dancing. 😉
LOL. You know how the Mafia works. Hope it’s not from run-ins with them in the past.
Hahaha. No no. Just watched a lot of Saprano’s. The only criminals I knew were Irish.
This is so cute! Is that your son on drums?
Yep. He was inconsistent, busy falling off the seat (literally) watching Mom go (and Dad doing his own crazy thang behind the camera). Was all a hoot. We did cut the parts where the little man fell off. =) Thanks for being here, M. You’ve been great.
No problem! I enjoyed it! so nice to see you in a different light!
Was a hec of fun jumping into the different light. =)
Love,
D.
Way to bust some moves!
HEh heh. Thx for being here.
Very fun Diana. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your silly bebop and congrats on those two awesome milestones! I enjoyed your son drumming too. Now I feel like a failure with 800 followers and 20,000 views. Obviously we know who the real writer is! XD
LOL. Now, now. I’m not big on self-esteem, as you know, but no one’s supposed to feel small here. =) Had a blast being silly for you guys. That’s what it’s about, isn’t it?
THANK you for the die-hard support, Brad.
Xx
me
Yes, and I enjoyed the spirit of your dance. I love to dance but can’t imagine doing it for filming and sharing! 🙂
(Racking brain as to hOw to get him to do this. There MUST be a way. There MUST.)
I would need strong incentives! XD
So let me get this straight. If we follow all your holistic culinary, physical and emotional advice we will all be as slim, lithe and joyous as you?
*LAUggghhing* (I did notice Mr. Stoic left out spiritual. Of course because he had it covered before he met HW.) I’m afraid things are not what always what they seem – even when you’re looking straight at them. The compulsive stress-eating, running from task to task like it’s a race, and little sleep do wonders for weight. And the (original) song seem to have a magical effect on women. =)
Congrats!!!
Thx. =) So glad you hopped aboard.
I’m a bad dancer but I’ll sing along 🙂 or bring a cake 🙂
I don’t do sugar but I’d LOVE to sing with you! Do you know the song I talked about? I Will Survive? Hey, it suits you!!
In fact my first CD ever was from Gloria Gaynor and it had that song in the playlist 🙂 as if you knew that!
HA!!
Awesome ! Good thing your son didn’t facepalm, ha ha ha. Like, Awww, Mom. can you not ?… Ha ha But you look great !
Ha ha ha. He got such a kick, he laughed helplessly. he LoVeS it when I start dancing to his drumming. Plays harder with the biggest smile. YAH. Adorable. =) And thanks for staying with me all this time. 😉
Congratulations. You have a lovely blog so it makes total sense!
So sweet. Must say what makes it lovely is all of you. Many thanks for the support, Emily.
The Holistic Wayfarer Rock! Now aren’t you the cool performer. Hollywood next stop!
Wouldn’t that be nice? Except that would take too much time off this blog. Nah – I’ll stick with you guys.
Congratulations to you! Fashionably late–I see the party is still going on, yes? Your shyness is a bit problematic, Diana… 🙂
“Fashionably late” You’re stealing my thunder. You’ve pulled heads away from me. I will try to be more assertive this year.
I loved it! It was such a fun party and your dance celebration was very expressive. I was the one that looked like the potato sack falling down the stairs as I joined in. No matter! I was left with a smile and gratitude that I had the good fortune to find and follow your blog.
We’re still going strong. Oh, so sorry you must leave, R. I didn’t see anyone falling and as long as no one got hurt, you needn’t advertise any tripping. I’m grateful that though you retire from the music, you are here to stay on the blog. =)
Diana
Diana, this is so cool, wow, this is actually you dancing up that storm. You are amazing! I am so honoured to have you as a follower, and am humbled each time you drop by my blog. I also see you in the comments of other blogs, and am in awe of how hard you work to build these blogging connections. Congratulations, you have earned this milestone.and thank you.
Okay, enough of this speech….let’s PARTY! 😀
~Carl~
“let’s PARTY!” Heh HEH!! Spoken like a true HoJomite (Holistic Journeymite). Indian weddings last a week or more, they say? Psh. They ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Drinks to the left. Here. I’ve opened the window. Get to it, buddy! (And you come bearing such sweet gift of words.)
Ahhhh, thanks for opening the window. All these wonderful people here to celebrate, it is getting warm in here! What a GREAT party! 🙂
Congrats, D! Big milestone and a dance party to celebrate 😀 You got some great moves there, you really do. Dance away!
But…but…wait. Why aren’t you stepping onto the floor?
I…I…don’t dance on the floor. I’m behind the DJ or music decks pumping the music on and on. And the photographer too 😀
AH! My photographer!! Oh, snap away. I’ll be so grateful.
I will gladly snap away. Happy to snap photos even if there is a disco light show at your party!
*I’ll be darned. She got away with not dancing.*
Congratulations… graceful wayfarer… courtesy of an enthusiastic and adorable drummer??
=) Thank you – for the good word on both me and my sidekick.
Xxx
Diana
Diana, Congratulations and I’m still amazed that we all fit in your home blog and are treated like family. (The favorite cousins perhaps!) 🙂
LOL!! You are so well-spoken, Deb. I have to say it IS awesome, how close I feel with you all.
Many thanks for the ongoing support, my friend. I am so glad I’ve gotten to know your story.
D.
So lovely to see you (you are an excellent dancer) and your son on drums. What a creative way to celebrate such an amazing feat.
Love,
E
I almost thanked you by name in the post. But if I’d started the list of VIP supporters, I would’ve left someone out. Appreciate the sweet word, Elizabeth – though I disagree on the dancing (which is why I’m up for lessons). Thanks so much for keeping up. I’ve felt the love and cheerleading. Am glad also to be part of your journey.
Xxxx
D.
Congratulations!
Thanks, K. =)

Excellent, Dennis. I hope they know the Salsa and Swing, my fav. I was doing some Salsa in the vid. Thanks for staying close the past year. =)
HW
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 This one made me smile Diana. Hehehe. Love it. You’re just a tiny little thing, aren’t you.
I could give you dance lessons if you lived here. Even hiit, pilates and some zumba if you like (no need for the guest spot though 🙂 )
Augh! You’d so get the guest spot. Oh, shoot! You’re in the wrong country. Dial up (888-1-H-E-A-V-E-N). Your guy’s a lucky man, what with a wife who can move. 😉 He was in trouble from the start.
Hahahaha. He can move too. An excellent dancer. Especially the Latino dance forms. He’s just terribly inflexible. He can’t even sit cross-legged with his knees reaching the floor. It’s pretty funny actually.
🙂
Ha ha ha. My guy is the real dancer in this house. He was shaking it, that I couldn’t stop smiling watching him behind that camera while filming (even though it was a sassy, finger-waggin’ song.) Though I love Swing, I realized I’m more a Salsa Mama. The hips just keep going. What a beautiful couple you are (remember, I’ve seen the pix.)
Awwwwww, I’m sure that was a humorous jam session indeed. I looooooovvvvvvveeee salsa too.
Awwwww, you are so sweet. Thank you for such a nice compliment.
🙂
Oh my goodness! I am grinning from EAR – to – EAR!
This made me smile so big! YOU make me smile so big. Congrats on your latest milestones and thank you for making me a better writer, blogger, friend, and mama. xoxoxo
You’re the ONLY party guest I’m kicking out. (You had to make yourself special.) You have WORK to do. And as tired as you have been…You ground your own blogging to a halt….and you insist on peeking in? Such stout loyalty is impermissible. OUT! And you came bearing gifts of praise and encouragement? Sinful!! Oh, the gall of such goodness. What are you…a CHRISTIAN or something??!
LOL!! Hey – just because I’m not having any parties over here doesn’t mean that I can’t come over and crash yours!!
I’ll bring suitable snacks – I promise!!!!
You’re too much. Ok, will let you dance five more min. Look at you…the helpless swiveling. But off I return you to hubby after that. THANKs for sharing in this, Mickey. It’s been a whole lotta fun.
Love,
D.
Congrats! And as for dance lessons… I think you have it nailed.
*chuckle* I have a feeling you won’t believe me but I disagree. I do accept the congrats in deep gratitude, though. You’ve been a star. Thanks for the beautiful support, Allen.
Diana
Congrats!
Thk u for the ongoing support. =)
Congratulations and great moves 🙂
Thanks. *grin* (I tried. LOL.) I so appreciate the steadfast support, AS.
You go girl! When your son looked back at the camera, I felt like he was saying, “Are you guys catching all this?!” Loved it!
How awesome is it to have found a platform where so MANY people take you as you are and enjoy you? So refreshing! It is a blessing for which you are clearly thankful. Onward and upward, Diana!
~ Vanessa
Oh, Vanessa, you dear dear woman. I have to hug you before I say anything more. Ha ha ha, the little man got such a kick he actually fell off his seat (we clipped that out). He loves it when I dance to his drumming (and proceeds to bang away with even greater aplomb, if that’s possible) but I realize it was the first time I’d lip synced and acted. LOL. THANK you SO much for the loving support.
Another bear hug,
Diana
Party over here! Congrats!
Heh heh. Still goin’…here’s a cocktail (very light, mostly juice).
I’ll take it!
Very cool party. lol.
Heh heh. Here’s a drink. *pour*
Nice post. Great dance and kudos to the drummer. I enjoy reading you, thanks.
Thanks, R. He had some trouble keeping it going, in stitches some parts watching Mom.
Dancing is poetry with arms and legs.
– Charles Baudelaire
Congratulations! You rock 🙂
Ha HA! You’re a walking treasury of quotes, T. Thank you. Thank you!! Hey, nice sashay. Wow. You’re a natural.
Xxxxxxx
I’m rather in awe of the way you’ve gathered up this motley community of fellow-wayfaring-strangers-turned-friends.
YOU are a gift to be celebrated. Thanks for the invite–and the dance and the drums. I need a break! Drinks are where…?
Well look who made her way into the VIP guest room. =) What a comment. Indeed, I can’t tell you how precious you all are to me. I am grateful for each and every show of support. HAH: we’re still going strong. Drinks to the left. Powder room to the back and right. And yep…you got it. There you go….you’re a natural on your feet!
Xxx
Diana
You got great moves! Congrats on your journey so far. I enjoy visiting and being inspired by your blog.
So nice to know. Thanks, Amina. =)
