Hi, you have a brand with organic ingredients for the lips? The color I have in mind is a cross between plum and raspberry. No, a little brighter than that but not pink. Would you have it as a lip liner? Matte but creamy.
Wide-stick.
(Eh, a little lighter than I wanted.)
Oh, I wish I were a man.
Beautiful pic my friend! Is that not the colour you were hoping for? I like it. I’m afraid I can only suggest some product lines that aren’t organic :(. As health conscious as I am with eating, I can’t give up my passion for make-up, lol. 🙂
You did time, Deb. PMS, Childbirth, MenoWHAT? Let’s not take your makeup, too. (I realized it was a tad lighter than expected in the sun.)
Lol, Di, I’m impressed at your attention to detail. Impressed, I said, not surprised. 🙂
With all the options for make-up, why can’t we have that in women’s clothing? We get to pick from small, medium, large and extra-large for shirts as if all women fit into four categories? Whereas, guys can choose their neck size, sleeve length and fit (slim, classic, extra tall) for shirts. Since I don’t wear make-up, I have to “rant” about other things! (BTW: Good to see you again. I hope you enjoyed your summer!)
Wow, look at you. I didn’t even realize men have those choices for shirts. They need their fun somewhere, I suppose. We…we have the gazillion choices for the face to worry about and if we should pass on those like you, there are the accessories..and HAIR! *system shut-down*
Haha! I have raised two boys and helped pick out prom tuxes, interview suits, and wedding tuxes for my boys. That’s the only reason why I know there are so many choices for guys!
Omg. I wish I didn’t know that’s what lay ahead… my own get-up is hard enough.
I went shopping last week for both men and woman and so agree with what you said.
Yes, yes. I agree. It is so very much easier for us, until we are asked which one we prefer…
LOLLLLL (it’s still harder for us, though. There’s childbirth.) *Lay THAT card down*
Yes, you definitely win with that card, and so the game is definitely easier for you!
Ha ha ha.
You’re just relieved to be a man.
Yes, and that is especially true when I am camping.
Oh, I haven’t even written on the challenges of hygiene in the woods…
Haha, just quit wearing make-up, like me!
Either way, I lose. *wrinkle nose*
Haha, love it 🙂
=)
Beautiful photo… the rest does not compute 🙂
LOL (You passed the test. You’re a man!)
lol- love this photo of you. I myself love such inconvenient details although it does annoy me when my hubby needs just 5 minutes to get dressed and I spend about 40.
They should not be annoyed at the wait because
1. they’re not the ones desperately clawing their way out of the sea of choices in makeup, HAiR, dress, accessories
2. they get to look good next to us.
Although I don’t see him being annoyed with anything at this stage of things. 😉
(I love hearing “husband” out of your mouth.)
Lol Diana! Men sure do have it easier in many ways, we women are just made of tougher stuff so we get a lifetime of annoying obstacles to deal with because we can handle it. A mean really, what man would go through what we do every month? And matching lipsticks? Puhleeze! 😉
LOL. Well said, T. You make some well-reasoned, well-articulated arguments. You have my vote if we ever need a Congresswoman on WPress.
Ha, well I’d be honored to take that position although I’m sure I’d last only a day at most. I forgot to mention earlier that picture of you is great!
Aye, yai, yai!
No kidding.
😉
I love the photo – don’t really understand the rest… I would have to travel to another country to find any cosmetic product that worked with my skin, it all looks ridiculous on me.
Ha ha ha. (I know your situation isn’t necessarily a funny one but I’m getting that you’re going to wrinkle your nose on it.) R, you don’t look like you need any help at all. (Was thinking about you.)
Xxx
D.
It IS funny and I’m so glad you laughed. The ladies around here tend to get a bit offended when we venture into makeup discussions. Once I went to an interview and the the recruiter mentioned that my hair was “too dynamic” for the corporate world. I responded that I would love to be able to have a hairstyle like hers (NOT) but it simply wasn’t possible to get my hair into a bob! Needless to say my friends tend to be of the male variety where these kinds of discussions don’t even occur… 😉
LOL. I look back fondly on those male friendships (ya can’t quite keep ’em going as you did once you’re married).
Hmmm, interesting thought I hadn’t considered – have you already written about that topic somewhere?
No. (You’re cool to be asking that.)
Write me at holisticwayfarer at gmail if you’re interested in a guest spot. =)
It’s tough to find the right color face powder too. One needs at least 2 shades for changing tans.
…tans….!!
Just ditch the make-up. My partner is allergic to makeup. So au naturel is thing for me.
But then there’s the HAIR… !@%!
Yup. I agree having a beautiful, easy to care hair cut and clean hair is important. Makes any woman beautiful.
I’m a little surprised you say this. I thought Jean would volley back: ‘Just put on a helmet!’ =)
Har, har. I guess my belief which only grows stronger as one ages, is that if a woman does want to choose 1 thing to feel beautiful it can be: to find a good hair cut (not perming, hair dyeing) and be healthy. A lot of woman benefit from a good hair cut, not really the make up. But you look good in that lipstick. 😉
I’m so slow with this whole woman thing. I think you nailed it, actually. I don’t think I still get what a difference the hair makes (I’d been just joking when I cried “but the hair!” Ayeya!! Life is hard nuff!
I just got my haircut ..and I always feel great. 🙂 I suspect you won’t cut your hair very differently for a very long time. What I meant that a haircut can take years off a woman’s face, if she chooses a cut that tends be less permy, curly, etc. A proper cut gives more elegance to a woman’s face…that is an art of the hairstylist…the underappreciated for lower paid work.
LOL I, in fact, got a perm not long ago. You could see a hint of it by the neck in the photo. I realized I hadn’t had one since Jr High. It is SO much easier to handle – I don’t have to handle! Just tie it back. But tsk tsk…Jean has been talking sense, wisdom, and style on this thread. You act like you don’t know how it’s done…but that’s just a cool front. LOL.
If it’s any consolation, metrosexual Korean men (of K-pop fame) wear as much make-up as women. They share your travails. Equality of the sexes right there!
Lovely selfie, btw.
LOL. Somehow it’s not consolation enough. But thanks for enlightening us. I told you I know nothing of Korean culture over there.
Choices, choices… and more darned choices. Although I believe you’ve made the right ones, Diana.
Ha ha ha. Sweet of you. (I shut down with too many choices.)
Reblogged this on quirkywritingcorner and commented:
Nope, I don’t want to be a man. They have to shave. ugh! Plus they’re clueless about things we have a natural “woman’s intuition” about. 🙂
The cluelessness does drive me batty. =) Thx for the support today. Glad you enjoyed.
ahhh colors…maybe not what you were looking for BUT beautiful…men don’t get colors…we must have blues and grays(yuck!!!)…we have to deal with a wallet(of course, we don’t need anything bigger…right???)…and we get strange looks if we interact with people’s kids too long…nah, you don’t wanna be a man…lol
*chuckle* You’re almost convincing. My husband has a red bag, a Man Bag. =) (He needs something to carry STUFF in.) He recently started sporting a fanny pack around his waist. Like the one you wear camping or when fixing things. (And you guys don’t get to be called beautiful. I’m tempted to still want to trade places, though…lol)
lol…oh some guys are…beautiful
LOLLLL Yeah, but it’s still to say it.
true that…
In today’s world, even women get “looks” if they interact too long with the children–other people’s children.
see, i wasn’t aware of that…
When I still felt young, I worried about cosmetics. Now I look in the mirror and wonder if ANYTHING would change what I see. Lines etched on my face seem irreparable, and of course the teeth I still have are the color of my tea.
Move to the tropics and be glad to give up all those ideas about being beautiful. We simply have to survive. One less duty… One less bowl to wash… One less worry in this life.
In other words, LET GO! (Always a challenge for me. But yes, after a certain point, it helps to have life simplify things for us.
I have been embarrassed to meet a friend at the mall and have her look at me as if to say, “Why are you letting yourself go like that?”
Well, reel yourself back in. =) The smallest touch helps. 😉
I don’t envy the everyday challenges of women, not for a single second! The lipstick looks great by the way, the sunglasses too!
Ha ha ha. It was all a lot of work, believe me. LOL. Thx.
You look younger here…I think the lipstick helps with that.
AUGH…I KNEW it! My gravatar looks old. ‘S why I was gonna change it. !@#%$% Thanks! lol

Men don’t have it easier, that dear one is all illusion, a matter of perception.
March on, brave and beautiful one. My blessings to you…
The grass is always greener… =)
You look pretty.
Must be the lipstick. Ha ha ha. Thx.
