stargazers in furious
bloom – vanilla air –
are the only flowers
that trust me, tell me
i am not hopeless;
the juice in their veins, the way
they gulp the sun and meet my face,
their beauty and their business
say i don’t need a green thumb
and the riotous garden.
all one needs is a singular love.
Very nice.
Thanks, B. =)
Very beautiful ^_^
Thanks. =)
Beautifully put, especially the ending.
So pleased you liked it. Thank you.
Very sweet D. I’m pleasantly surprised. 🙂
Ok, I am laughing. That’s like one of those back-handed compliments from Husband. You’re surprised it’s so sweet. LOL. ThAnks. HA ha ha.
I’m glad you can laugh with us. 🙂
Always…lol 😉
I like it. Nice poem, D!
Thanks, C. I always want to put out something earth-shattering but I realized sometimes it is enough that it serves the moment.
A beautiful thought, D. ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜
A comfort to me. =) Thx.
I like the image of the stargazer as a symbol of life, hope and beauty. The juice in the veins of those flowers could be compared to the blood that runs through our veins, what makes us live. The sun is a symbol of optimism and joy. A singular love, yes! Love is the most important thing in life. A very beautiful poem, full of hope.
I appreciate the thoughtful feedback. And yes, the poem was about more than flowers and everything about hope.
I have just posted the link to your poem on my Facebook for my poet friends. Please, keep writing!
So kind. Thanks so much.
Fabulous, Diana!!! 🙂 ❤
Reblogged this on Sacred Touches.
I appreciate that, Natalie. I’m pleased you enjoyed it enough to share. Please take care of yourself. R canals are hard on the kidneys – though no one in the Western Medical system is aware. You might consider a gentle cleanse and something to fortify…when you are better.

Thx for rdg, J.
Nice to see poetry from you! Nicely done!
Thx, M. It’d been a while that I felt the itch.
Lovely.
Thanks, V.
This might be my favorite piece of yours . . . so far.
Surprising, but glad to know, J. Thanks. =)

I particularly like, ‘the way they gulp the sun and meet my face.’ Might be the mood I’m in.
That’s right. That factor, how the reader is receiving it and the day s/he has woken to. Well, the that line came a little too easily to make me wonder so I’m glad it went down so well!! Thanks so much for the feedback.
Beautiful
Thank you. =)
My pleasure 😊
Love!
Great! =)
Beautiful – a love “vanilla air” (now I’m yearning for Spring!)
Oh, ha ha. It’s around the corner in Southern CA.
You are as far away from hopeless as can be 🙂
Laughing. Pretty incredible how polar people’s perspectives can be on the same object of consideration. Thank you, dear friend. Thank you.
Wow
Wowed myself: a comment from DK. =)
😀
Oh, I love the image of the lilies “gulping the sun.”
=) Under your touch they would dance and shout.
Gardening takes time… But with love, you never know what you can achieve if you don’t let it blind you 😊
I am grateful for any yield!
Such a beautiful ending, like a flower… 🙂
Aw…thk u! =)
Lovely D. I missed your poetry.
Aw, sweeet!
Exquisite, Diana. Who needs a whole garden with that one bloom 🙂
That is my comfort, D. =) And not just with flowers.
Yes, the metaphor was lovely.
The last line says it all. 🙂
That was the point. =) Thx, R.
Well written!
Thank you. =)
Gorgeous picture. Your word images more than do your gardening justice. Lovely.
I appreciate the praise, Ina. It is my hope that I can be fruitful with my words.
Nicely put. There needs to be more love expressed for nature both in our appreciation of it and our support in the way we handle it. Our reward is its beauty enhanced by our care.
I would love to be able to do that. As it is, the poem was about my fruitfulness in other areas, too. Thank you, Ian.
Very nice and beautiful photos too. Did you take them?
Yep. =) Thx.
That was truly lovely!
Thanks, A.
A really lovely poem, Diana. The blossoms in the accompanying photo look to be tiger lilies, perhaps? I’m not sure but the photo is beautiful.
Yes, as far as I know. You do know the things of nature. =) Thanks, Y.
This is great, Diana! Love it.

Thank you, friend.
I don’t know that I will ever view flowers the same. Thanks.
Very sweet. Thank you. =)
Beautiful!
Thank you. =)
Beautiful Diana, that singular love comes across strongly in the joy and gratitude in this poem.
Thanks, Andrea. The great thing is, the singular love applies in different areas of our life. =)
Gorgeous–the words and the pic. Funny, I was just thinking I can’t wait to plant my flower seeds this spring. Feeling the need to help creation . . .
Oh, love that this was timely. So glad you are willing to set aside time for yourself. =)
Brilliant poem full of strong imagery. I love the lines “the juice in their veins” and “the way they gulp the sun”. Powerful stuff! I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem is about a double rainbow in case you have time to look? Colourful greetings, Sam 🙂
