Men Have It Easier

Hi, you have a brand with organic ingredients for the lips? The color I have in mind is a cross between plum and raspberry. No, a little brighter than that but not pink. Would you have it as a lip liner? Matte but creamy.

Wide-stick.

(Eh, a little lighter than I wanted.)
Oh, I wish I were a man.

  1. Beautiful pic my friend! Is that not the colour you were hoping for? I like it. I’m afraid I can only suggest some product lines that aren’t organic :(. As health conscious as I am with eating, I can’t give up my passion for make-up, lol. 🙂

  2. With all the options for make-up, why can’t we have that in women’s clothing? We get to pick from small, medium, large and extra-large for shirts as if all women fit into four categories? Whereas, guys can choose their neck size, sleeve length and fit (slim, classic, extra tall) for shirts. Since I don’t wear make-up, I have to “rant” about other things! (BTW: Good to see you again. I hope you enjoyed your summer!)

    • They should not be annoyed at the wait because

      1. they’re not the ones desperately clawing their way out of the sea of choices in makeup, HAiR, dress, accessories

      2. they get to look good next to us.

Although I don’t see him being annoyed with anything at this stage of things. 😉

(I love hearing “husband” out of your mouth.)

  3. Lol Diana! Men sure do have it easier in many ways, we women are just made of tougher stuff so we get a lifetime of annoying obstacles to deal with because we can handle it. A mean really, what man would go through what we do every month? And matching lipsticks? Puhleeze! 😉

  4. I love the photo – don’t really understand the rest… I would have to travel to another country to find any cosmetic product that worked with my skin, it all looks ridiculous on me.

    • Ha ha ha. (I know your situation isn’t necessarily a funny one but I’m getting that you’re going to wrinkle your nose on it.) R, you don’t look like you need any help at all. (Was thinking about you.)

      Xxx
      D.

      • It IS funny and I’m so glad you laughed. The ladies around here tend to get a bit offended when we venture into makeup discussions. Once I went to an interview and the the recruiter mentioned that my hair was “too dynamic” for the corporate world. I responded that I would love to be able to have a hairstyle like hers (NOT) but it simply wasn’t possible to get my hair into a bob! Needless to say my friends tend to be of the male variety where these kinds of discussions don’t even occur… 😉

      • Har, har. I guess my belief which only grows stronger as one ages, is that if a woman does want to choose 1 thing to feel beautiful it can be: to find a good hair cut (not perming, hair dyeing) and be healthy. A lot of woman benefit from a good hair cut, not really the make up. But you look good in that lipstick. 😉

      • I’m so slow with this whole woman thing. I think you nailed it, actually. I don’t think I still get what a difference the hair makes (I’d been just joking when I cried “but the hair!” Ayeya!! Life is hard nuff!

      • I just got my haircut ..and I always feel great. 🙂 I suspect you won’t cut your hair very differently for a very long time. What I meant that a haircut can take years off a woman’s face, if she chooses a cut that tends be less permy, curly, etc. A proper cut gives more elegance to a woman’s face…that is an art of the hairstylist…the underappreciated for lower paid work.

      • LOL I, in fact, got a perm not long ago. You could see a hint of it by the neck in the photo. I realized I hadn’t had one since Jr High. It is SO much easier to handle – I don’t have to handle! Just tie it back. But tsk tsk…Jean has been talking sense, wisdom, and style on this thread. You act like you don’t know how it’s done…but that’s just a cool front. LOL.

  5. If it’s any consolation, metrosexual Korean men (of K-pop fame) wear as much make-up as women. They share your travails. Equality of the sexes right there!

    Lovely selfie, btw.

  6. ahhh colors…maybe not what you were looking for BUT beautiful…men don’t get colors…we must have blues and grays(yuck!!!)…we have to deal with a wallet(of course, we don’t need anything bigger…right???)…and we get strange looks if we interact with people’s kids too long…nah, you don’t wanna be a man…lol

  7. When I still felt young, I worried about cosmetics. Now I look in the mirror and wonder if ANYTHING would change what I see. Lines etched on my face seem irreparable, and of course the teeth I still have are the color of my tea.

Move to the tropics and be glad to give up all those ideas about being beautiful. We simply have to survive. One less duty… One less bowl to wash… One less worry in this life.
